A developmental disability
is a chronic mental or physical impairment or combination of these
impairments manifested before the age of twenty-two. These
conditions will likely continue indefinitely and result in three or more
of the following substantial functional limitations: self care,
receptive and expressive language, learning, mobility, self-direction,
capacity for independent living, and/or economic self-sufficiency.
Eligibility for public mental health services is based on various
factors including a diagnosis of a developmental disability.
